Just ahead of Apple executives taking the stage in San Jose, CA – where the firm is expected to announce its latest enhancements to iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS(alongside some other possible suprises both talked and not-yet-talked about), banners and flags on Friday began to go up at the host venue for this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference.

Several photos that have surfaced online in the past few hours suggest that Apple’s contractors have officially begun the process of decorating both the McEnery Convention Center itself, and surrounding areas, with promotional material relating to WWDC17.

Specifically, banners spotted by passersby show the firm’s –cryptic?– birds-eye view of what appears to be a community of people doing everyday things, whilst connecting with each other in the real world.

A hint towards the potential focus of this year’s conference, perhaps? … Could the company be planning to introduce its next wave of social products?

Instagram user @devondoebele, who provides the above photo, writes:

“For the last two years I have attended #wwdc in San Francisco. It’s in San Jose this year, and damned if I’m not here the week before to see them setting up. #cryinginmybeer.”

Meanwhile, @CodeCadets on Twitter shares the following photo that shows the building’s front is now also decked in WWDC17 signage.

Here’s another by @TachibanaKaoru:

… and flags would also appear to going up on streetlamps that surround the convention center:

It’s worth pointing out that this is the first time in a long time that Apple has chosen to host its WWDC conference anywhere else but San Francisco‘s now legendary Moscone Center

Whether that means we’re in for something bigger than usual, or the move was simply down to Moscone being pre-booked at the time Apple went to secure it, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see …
