As was widely anticipated, the follow-up instalment to Bungie’s popular space-based first-person console shooter just got a cinematic trailer … and a release date.

The title, which will arrive a full three years after the FPS made its worldwide debut – back in 2014, will become available on Xbox One, PS4 and -for the first time- PC, this September bringing with it a ton of exclusive content for those that choose to pre-order on PS4 – and three new sub-classes: Sentinel, Arcstrider and Dawnblade.

Alongside getting a cinematic trailer the gaming studio has this week also shown off what is considered to be the first-ever look at Destiny 2’s actual gameplay, ahead of the game’s expected release on September 8.
Pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe version of the game will see players receive Destiny 2 Base Game, plus the Destiny 2 Expansion Pass that gives access to both Expansion I and Expansion II, offering “brand new story missions, cooperative activities, competitive multiplayer, and a wealth of new weapons, armor, and gear,” the studio says.
Other premium digital content available for purchase after pre-order will include:
– Legendary Sword
– Legendary Player Emote
– Cabal Empire Themed Emblem
– Bonus Destiny 2 content first on PS4
Despite the new announcement that the popular FPS is coming to PC, though, many in the Destiny community have already expressed their disappointment at the studio’s (now confirmed) decision to release the PC version of Destiny 2 – exclusively via Battle.net, versus popular distribution channel, Steam.
