The company’s annual developer gathering will this year take place at a new location, posing many to speculate over the reason behind the decision to move the conference.
Announced just hours ago, Apple on Thursday revealed that its Worldwide Developer Conference would be taking over San Jose’s McEnery Convention Center – between the period of June 5th and 9th.
“Technology alone is not enough. Technology must intersect with the liberal arts and the humanities, to create new ideas and experiences that push society forward,” the firm writes on its mini-site for the conference.
“This summer we bring together thousands of brilliant minds representing many diverse perspectives, passions, and talents to help us change the world,” it adds.
Usually having its focus on highlighting new technologies and support, that will ultimately help developers both existing and new to create awe-inspiring experiences for iOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS, the conference has (in the past) also been home to some of the company’s biggest announcements.
