It was really only a matter of time before Apple began using the App Store to serve app-related ads to its users, especially given that there are now 1.9 Million apps currently available for download on the store, and more than 65-percent of downloads come directly from App Store Search.
And so with the public release of iOS 10 – later this year, Apple will officially begin serving ‘sponsored’ app spots to users through the App Store’s Search tab.
Announcing the opening of its Search Ads Beta at the end of last week, developers who have apps available for sale or download on the iOS App Store can now express their interest in this forthcoming ad availability, by joining the company’s beta.
