As was hinted in a report published just a week ago, Apple has signed an exclusive launch partnership with U.S cable network HBO – creator of Game of Thrones, that will see users of the Apple TV, iPhone and iPad (in the U.S) given unrestricted access to HBO’s full video streaming catalog – for just $14.99/mo.
The best part? – No cable subscription required.
“It’s $14.99 a month. And for a limited time, the first month is free if you sign up on your Apple TV, iPad, or iPhone,” Apple says.
The service is expected to launch next month and will be available exclusively in the U.S, initially, on both Apple TV and via the App Store.
The announcement by Apple was added to by the world premiere of an exclusive trailer for Game of Thrones (Season 5), now available to re-watch on iTunes Movie Trailers, in addition to the company making the Apple TV even more affordable by dropping the streamer’s price from its previous $99 price point – to just $69.
“It’s never been easier to binge-watch your favorite shows,” Apple says.
