Alongside seeding iOS 8.2 (Beta 4) to developers in the last several hours, Apple has today also seeded new builds of both of its developer-focused toolkits.
Apple’s Xcode was designed to give developers the user interface, and user experience, tools required for them to develop the next-generation of apps for the iOS platform. With the seeding of iOS 8.2 (Beta 4), Xcode 6.2 has reached Beta 4.
Meanwhile, the latest available public version remains at 6.1.1.
Apple began asking developers to start getting their apps ready for the Apple Watch’s eventual retail debut, back in November. With today’s software seedings, WatchKit reaches build number 6C107a.
WatchKit apps have two parts:
1. A WatchKit extension that runs on iPhone and a set of user interface resources that are installed on Apple Watch. Apple says that when your app is launched on Apple Watch, the WatchKit extension on iPhone runs in the background to update the user interface and respond to user interactions.
2. Glances, and actionable notifications.
Both software updates are available to download directly from the Dev Center.
