Just a quick note for those in the UK. Following the launch of its new channel, ITV Encore, (available on Sky channel 123), Sky’s NOW TV service has announced today that ITV Player will finally be joining the catch-up offerings on its pay-as-you-go content box.
“It means you’ll never miss an ITV show again. Catch Coronation Street, Midsomer Murders, ITV’s new show TV OD and … all 34 of ITV’s World Cup matches in Brazil, and highlights too.” the announcement read.
While the service has confirmed the rollout to its users, however, some out there already subscribed to NOW TV may find themselves waiting for ‘ITV Player’ to actually show up on their box. That’s because the channel is gradually rolling out to users over the next week (or so).
The adding of the catch-up channel to the Apple TV competitor, means that NOW TV customers now have access to all four of the UK’s biggest catch-up television services; BBC iPlayer, 4oD, 5oD and ITV Player, directly from the £10 box.
Of course, while you wait for the app to show up on your own box, you can also head over to the App Store and download the official NOW TV app designed for both iPhone and iPad.
The app provides all those who are already subscribed to Sky’s on-the-go TV service with the ability to watch both live and recorded content from Sky’s most-popular channels, including Sky 1 and Sky Arts 1 HD, over either a 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi connection.
